Integrated Open Source Software Stacks

At BitRock we've used our expertise in integrating open source software to develop easy to install, pre-integrated Web Stacks. These distributions are different variations of the LAMP stack (Linux, Apache, MySQL/PostgreSQL, and PHP/Python) and are free for download. They allow you to take advantage of the stability, low cost and high performance of the LAMP without the hassle of integrating, configuring, and supporting your own build. BitRock webstacks are a great way to achieve rapid, consistent deployments across a variety of Linux distributions.

BitRock LAMPStack and LAPPStack are free to download and use under the terms of the Apache 2.0 license. As the stacks contain several open source tools and libraries, it is important that you read and comply with the licenses for each component of the stacks.

There are currently several versions of BitRock Web Stacks available:

• BitRock LAMPStack: Apache 1.3, MySQL 4.1, PHP 4.4, Python 2.3, and supporting libraries.
• BitRock LAMPStack/MAMPStack 5: Contains the latest stable releases of Apache 2, MySQL 5, PHP 5, Python 2.4, and supporting libraries.
• BitRock LAPPStack: Contains the latest stable releases of Apache 2, PostgreSQL 8, PHP 5, Python 2.4, and supporting libraries.

BitRock has partnered with MySQL AB to offer a LAMPStack version including all the benefits available with the commercially supported MySQL Network and MySQL Certified binaries.
